The recent Content Deployment fixes for Sharepoint (952698 and 952704) have now been rolled into the Infrastructure Update for Office Servers.

Applying the Content Deployment Rollup fixes 952698 and 952704 went well, but not entirely smoothly. Here is the remedial action you might need to take. Fingers crossed that Variations benefit from the install.
